Molly (our first bride ever) + Alex

(Benton County Fairgrounds, Kennewick WA on Oct 6th, 2018)

Pre-opening at the store: Cassie, the owner, is my cousin, therefore its not everyday that someone you know opens a business for a service you need with such impeccable timing! She rushed shipping in 75 gowns a month early (dresses were originally set to arrive in July for her august grad opening). Cassie had completed exactly one dressing room area so far. I had 6 of my close friends from college and childhood, my mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. I learned that opening a large bottle of champagne is not one of my many skills.

How did you pick the dress? The dress: Juno from Wtoo by Watters

When I first started planning my wedding day, I wanted to keep things simple and warm. String lights, greenery, and lots of white. On the top of my list was the perfect dress that I felt beautiful and comfortable in. When I stepped into Honest and Ivory, i knew there were several options that I would be ecstatic to wear on my wedding day. I ended up choosing the Juno gown by Wtoo because I loved the soft English netting skirt and the lace detailing in the illusion on the top. The waistline fit perfectly on my body type. It was amazingly comfortable, shift dress, perfect for tearing it up on the dance floor (high priority for me). The day of, I felt gorgeous and confident.

Vision for your wedding?

Our wedding venue was basically a blank slate. We decided on using the Benton County Fairgrounds with this huge beautiful barn/warehouse for our venue. We had invited over 450 people so we knew we needed a place large enough to fit us all. I wanted really simple and classic decor. I found these beautiful cedar wood rounds for our center pieces, touches of greenery, candles, and large globe lights. We had a tremendous amount of support for wedding set-up and tear-down from our friends and family. I also made the smartest decision even to hire a day-of coordinator, my friend Carla. So worth it. Even though the wedding was larger, I wanted every touch of it to be simple and meaningful.

How did it go?

Of course, the morning of getting ready it was raining. I finished writing my vows as my bridesmaids got ready together. One of my wedding presents from my bridesmaid’s family was a party bus to the reception, so we blasted music and drank champagne all the way there. When we arrived to the venue, Alex (my soon to be husband) and I decided to do a first look and then write our own personal vows just to say in front of each other. I have never experienced a more intimate, loving, and important moment in my entire life so far. It was beautiful. Because Cassie (Honest in Ivory Owner aka my cousin) has been on so many photo shoots since opening the store, we took so many cool first look photos around the fair grounds. Overall, the ceremony and reception was a beautiful whirlwind. So many people we loved all in one place, while I got to marry my best friend. I would look over at Alex all throughout the night and I do not think I ever saw him once stop smiling. I am still over here swoon about it.

Advice to a future bride?

We had a 4 month engagement, which I would HIGHLY recommend. We didn’t have time to stress about the little stuff. We planned the big things that mattered and then skipped right over any frivolous details.
