(August 7, 2021 in Clayton, WA)

In this blog post, we'll hear from a couple who had a rustic and casual wedding, and how they made their day extra special. The author found an all-inclusive venue package, which made the planning process less stressful. They had a first look before the ceremony, which helped to ease their nerves and allowed for more photo opportunities. The author also shared some special moments from their wedding day, including an anniversary dance and a lightsaber sendoff. Their advice to future brides is to enjoy every moment of the planning process and the wedding day, and to take lots of pictures with guests.

By our real bride, Hannah:

What was the vision for your wedding?

Our vision for our wedding was a rustic and country theme. We knew that we wanted a casual and relaxing atmosphere for our guests as well. We were so lucky to find our dream venue that had an all inclusive package. We didn’t have to worry about some of the big and stressful parts of the wedding because the package included photographer, venue, DJ, and catering!

How did it go the day-of?

We loved the idea of a traditional wedding but due to time weren’t able to have our first look be at the ceremony. By doing a first look beforehand, it gave us the opportunity to take a lot of nerves away and relax with each other before the ceremony and we got all our pictures out of the way while my hair and makeup was still fresh!

One special thing we did was have an anniversary dance during the reception with all couples to see who’s been married the longest. My husband and I both danced with one of our grandparents who had lost their husband/wife to celebrate their marriages. Another fun way to get more honeymoon funds was to also have a dance where people paid to dance with me or my husband — we earned over $200 in 2 songs! The last special thing we did was have a lightsaber sendoff because my husband and (mostly) I are HUGE Star Wars fans!

What is your #1 tip to future brides?

My number one tip to all brides is to enjoy every second of your big day because it goes by quicker than you think! My other tip is to take lots of pictures with your guests, that is one thing we didn’t get a lot of but wish we would have. Enjoy every second of planning and don’t let it stress you! It’s your day to feel like a queen!
