(July 17, 2021 in Spokane, WA)

Are you dreaming of your perfect wedding? Then you're going to love hearing about the vision for this amazing wedding, which just so happens to be the wedding of our shop manager Kenzie! Despite the challenges of planning a wedding during a pandemic, the bride and groom had a beautiful day filled with love, laughter, and music. From the Old Hollywood glam theme to the black and white checkered dance floor, this wedding was truly unique and unforgettable. If you're planning your own wedding, you won't want to miss the #1 tip that Kenzie has to share. So sit back, relax, and get ready to be inspired!

Our shop manager Kenzie looked absolutely BREATHTAKING in both of her gowns on her wedding day! The first dress she wore was Tia from the Honest in Ivory Private Collection. This is a gorgeous fit and flare gown made out of the most luxurious Mikado material. Seams in the bodice accentuate her figure and this gown has the most gorgeous details. Her second gown was our Aurora gown by Willowby. It has a beautiful A-line fit with the most flattering double waistband. Bubble sleeves and a deep v-neckline add gorgeous details to this gown. And did we mention the whole thing is colored in dazzling faceted stones? We could not be more in love with Kenzies two gorgeous looks!

By our real bride, Kenzie:

What was the vision for your wedding?

WOW! It's crazy to think about the past couple of years being in the bridal industry while planning my own wedding through a global pandemic. In March 2020 I took a vacation to Cancun, Mexico with my parents and Ryans family where we got engaged on the beach next to the ocean with our loved ones there to celebrate. When we got home a few days later, the entire world had changed. Honest In Ivory had been shut down due to the COVID lockdown and Ryan and I were newly engaged.

We immediately started looking for a venue and decided on Roberts Mansion in Brownes Addition right below the South Hill where we have our home together. We wanted to get married somewhere very unique and local, of course! We wanted a smaller wedding of about 100 people and as COVID continued and the shutdown lasted for a couple months we decided to hope for the best as most of my own brides at Honest did as well. We set our date as 7/17/21 and we said no matter what, that's the day we were getting married. After booking our venue, I decided to go for an eclectic, Old Hollywood glam theme for our wedding. Centered around romance, love, and our love for music (our playlist was completely handpicked by the two of us!). I used my dream wedding Pinterest board to plan the romantic and unique wedding of our dreams. We choose vendors who were local and near and dear to my heart and we even had the most incredible black and white checkered dance floor.

How did it go the day-of?

Luckily, our wedding had no restrictions and happened with all of our 100 guests being able to attend, it was truly meant to be as I watched a lot of brides push their weddings once again because of restrictions. Our wedding weekend started with the most incredible rehearsal dinner at Brownes Bistro and live music from Ryan's dad's own band! We had the beautiful mansion from Friday to Sunday so it was very relaxing and easy to enjoy! The wonderful owner of Roberts Inn, Denise, and her assistant Maggie, basically set everything up for us - from the decor to even making us breakfast the morning-of.

My wonderful bridesmaids and family made the day so special and truly made me feel like a queen. I was so incredibly nervous all day, my hands were shaking, and I stopped to take in the small moments so many times while crying each time. One of my best friends who was my bridesmaid did my hair and makeup for me which was so special and a moment I couldn't wait to share with her. Our first look was perfect, my fiancé was soooo nervous and he kept telling his groomsmen he just wanted the day to be perfect for me! Our officiant was also a close friend of ours and our wedding was his very first! We ended up throwing a curveball and rewriting the script last minute so we could say our vows in private instead because Ryan was so nervous. Our ceremony was short and sweet and so romantic, it was like time stopped and we were the only two there.

Our dinner was catered by Veraci Pizza and dessert by Sweet Frostings. The speeches were probably our favorite part, my dad had the most heartfelt, incredible speech you could literally hear a pin drop and everyone was in tears! We also had the most amazing thing happen, a cat showed up to our wedding as an honorary guest! Ryan and I are big cat people (we have two of our own) so this was a dream come true for us! Our first dance was magic on our black and white checkered dance floor, everyone was in tears during the father-daughter dance, and with an outfit change into my second gown of the evening it was truly a dance to remember! And of course the party went on with lots of great moves on the dance floor!

What is your #1 tip to future brides?

My tip for brides is to not focus on the little things that go wrong. It's not about the dress, the party, the food it's about the two of you and the special love that you have for each other. I am so lucky to have married Ryan, he truly is my soulmate but not only that, we are so lucky we have such a wonderful group of friends and family that made it there to celebrate with us after such a wild year. Our families are truly what made this day perfect and the love at our venue could be felt for miles. Slow down and take it all in because it's over in the blink of an eye!
