(July 27, 2019 at Settlers Creek)

In todays blog post, the author of the blog post had a clear vision for her wedding and knew what she wanted, resulting in a seven-month engagement. She had certain vendors in mind such as Honest In Ivory for her dress and her high school friend Ashley to be the photographer, and Settlers Creek was the perfect venue. On the day, the author was surprisingly calm, and not doing a first look made the moment she walked down the aisle to see her groom all the more special. The author's favorite part of the day was reading their own vows. The day had some hiccups, but the author chose not to worry about them and advises future brides to "not sweat the small stuff" and to focus on the fact that they are marrying their best friend.

Paige looked absolutely stunning in our Eloise gown by Essense of Australia. This is an A-line gown with a beautiful full skirt. The bodice features a narrow v-neckline and a flattering double waistband. Romantic lace detailing in a mixed pattern of florals, leaves, and vines, is found throughout the bodice and then cascades beautifully down into the skirt. A stunning v-shape in the back and fabric-covered buttons complete this gorgeous look.

By our real bride, Paige:

What was the vision for your wedding?

I had a vision of my wedding before I got started. We got engaged in December (he proposed in my classroom in front of my kindergarteners) and then we got married in July. It was a seven-month engagement and I wouldnt have had it any other way. I knew what I wanted and I kind of just went from there. For vendors, I knew I wanted to get my dress at Honest In Ivory and I knew I wanted my high school friend Ashley to be our photographer. I didnt know about the venue, but when I found Settlers Creek, I knew it was perfect. We found our florist, baker, makeup artist, and hairstylist after that and I wouldnt have changed anything!

How did it go the day-of?

On the day of, I thought I was going to be super nervous, but instead, there was a sense of peace and I was so calm the day of. We didnt do a first look and I am so happy we didnt. The feeling I had as I walked down the aisle and saw him for the first time standing there, was something I will cherish forever. We also read our own vows and that was my favorite part of the whole day. After our short ceremony that lasted 30 minutes, we had cocktail hour and got to take pictures with our family and friends. Then, we went to the reception and we both finally could just enjoy OUR PARTY! It was the best day ever!

What is your #1 tip to future brides?

Dont sweat the small stuff! There were so many things that went wrong on our wedding day and I chose not to worry about them! Most of the problems were things that my guests wouldnt have even noticed. Just relax and focus on the fact that you are marrying your best friend!
