By our bride, Kristin:

What was the vision for your wedding?

I never had big dreams of what my future wedding would look like so my priority was finding the perfect venue. I really wanted an outdoor ceremony with a beautiful view that would showcase the beauty of North Idaho. I chose soft, earthy tones like greens, whites, and wood accents to go with the location. Everything came together better than I could have imagined. When choosing vendors, we really wanted to support local vendors from the Sandpoint area as much as possible. I used recommendations from coworkers, friends, and some recent brides I knew in the area and then started reaching out to chat with them.

How did it go the day of?

Leading up to our wedding day, the sky was so smoky. All year long I have envisioned a beautiful day up on the mountain overlooking the lake. Sadly, it appeared the weather had other plans. On the day of our wedding, we woke up to clear blue skies. I couldn't believe it. Everything about the day was perfection. Schweitzer was amazing to work with and helped coordinate all the vendors so I didn't have to worry about what was going on behind the scenes. The day started with coffee and bagels from my favorite bagel shop, Uptown Bagel in Sandpoint. We had so much fun getting ready.

Our two dogs, Buddy and Piper, are very important to us but we decided to not have them at the wedding as it's too stressful for them. We made sure to include them throughout the day as much as possible. I gave Chris cufflinks with their picture engraved on them as a wedding gift. We had signature drinks named after them, custom napkins with their picture, and our favorites were dog treats. They were a big hit!

We did not have a first look so getting to see Chris as I was walking down the aisle for the first time was a moment I will cherish forever. We had a short, but very personable ceremony and then elected to read our personal vows in private following the ceremony. Chris even wrote me vows from the dogs, which was absolutely perfect. We got to have our first dance outside on the deck surrounded by all our loved ones and the mountains. It was the most perfect day I could have ever wanted!

What is your #1 tip for future brides?

I am a planner so I had everything organized into separate totes which made decorating a breeze for those helping me. Each tote had the items for the table and a diagram I drew for how to display them. Having day-of coordinators was absolutely amazing. I didn't have to worry about what was going on behind the scenes and could truly relax and enjoy the day.
