Sophia + Josh

(September 4, 2022 in Deer Park, WA)

Sophia and Josh's wedding was a celebration of true love that will last forever. The couple has been together for almost 7.5 years, overcoming the challenges of long-distance and growing stronger together. On their special day, they wanted their guests to feel the love that they shared and to create memories that would last a lifetime. The wedding was filled with personal touches, including a surprise recording of Josh's proposal, and the use of After The Tone to capture voice recordings from their family. In this blog post, we will delve into the details of Sophia and Josh's wedding, highlighting the unique elements that made their day truly unforgettable.

By our real bride, Sophia:

What was the vision for your wedding?

Take L-O-V-E by Nat King Cole, Schmidt and Cece’s love from New Girl, and the old-school love that you hear about from your grandparents and mash it. We wanted the “true love that last forever” feeling.

How did it go the day-of?

It was perfect. My husband and I could feel the love outpouring from guests and the guests could feel it as well. We had been together for almost 7.5 years by the time we got married. Sophomore high school sweethearts and long distance of 6 hours for 4.5+ years. This day was a celebration that we finally made it to the one thing we kept reminding each other of when times got tough. I would not change a thing.

My two favorite touches were:

My husband (wedding videographer) flew his drone and captured him proposing to me on video but he surprised me further by wearing his recorder. He has the audio of him asking me to marry him. Long story short, we looped the beginning of our processional song (everyone walked out to the same song) and he added the audio of him proposing to me to the song. So our guests got to hear him proposing to me before I walked out and it was the most special thing ever. I cherish that and it’s my most-favorite thing.

2. We used After The Tone and it was the best decision we’ve ever made. We have voice recordings from our family and we can always hold on to those, even after they’re gone.

What is your #1 tip to future brides?

Enjoy your day and let others do things for you. This is the one day you will marry your best friend and you want to feel pampered. Also, it’s okay if you don’t miss planning it. Wedding blues who???
